Morocco offers a certainty, when visiting, of entering completely with
it. There is a constant recall to history, beckoning us to the stall
shops. The carpets, the ceramics, the leather and the copper are all
uniquely Moroccan. Techniques of production and style often date back
hundreds of years. The clothes, the jewels and the tattoos of women
speak from the depths of a rich and vibrant artisan tradition.
Morocco has retained, undamaged, the traditional techniques of its
artisan crafts as they have been handed down from generation to
generation. Down to the smallest villages of all the regions of the
kingdom, Berbers, Riffian, or Fassi craftsmen continue to skilfully
produce the arts and crafts that are distinctly Moroccan and famous all
over the world. |
